What is your favorite ASP.NET Book ?

JoesBooks

I’m  working on adding a books recommendation section to the ASP.NET forums.

I’ll only be recommending books that I’ve actually been able to review myself, since I really want the value of the recommendations to be very high and topically specific.

If you have a favorite book about any specific ASP.NET (or related topic like IIS) please let me know. (Use the contact form and tell me the Title and Author).

I’ll get a copy of the book myself and if I agree, I’ll add it to the list of recommendations!

I have not read any of the ASP.NET books as of yet. I probably will pick up several in the future, but as a beginning ASP.NET programmer I have been able to find everything I need on asp.net, Scott Guthrie's website, and on your website. You guys (as well as many others on the team) do such an excellent job developing training webcasts, sharing source code, informing the community of new features, and answering technical questions that I have not really needed to buy an books as of yet.
ASP.NET and the developer blogs are the best on the net. Thanks ASP.NET team for all the great resources!

I think the book recommendations are a great addition to the forums. Gives noobs a perfect place to start. Im banned from the forums, by the way... pretty ridiculous.

Hey Joe, not sure if this qualifies as an "ASP.NET book" but I think it's the best javascript book available today, and it would be an excellent reference on the "Client Side Web Development" forums.

Written by Peter-Paul Koch http://www.quirksmode.org/book/

It is the best book for getting past browser incompatibilities - a very common issue mentioned on that forum.

I really am enjoying "Build Your Own ASP.NET 2.0 Web Site Using C# & VB, 2nd Edition" by SitePoint (ISBN # 0-9752402-8-5). It's been a great aid in learning everything about getting up and running with ASP.NET 2.0. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to learn ASP.NET 2.0 but doesn't know where to start.

The site for the book is: http://www.sitepoint.com/books/aspnet2/
