New - AJAX Patterns Video Series

by JoeStagner 2/23/2007 4:39:34 AM

This week I launched the first in a series of Videos on AJAX Patterns with the ASP.NET 2.0 Extensions for AJAX

I’ll be releasing 1 or 2 a week and have about 30 topics identified.

PLease check out the first one and sne dme your comments and suggestions.

How Do I: Implement the Predictive Fetch Pattern for AJAX?

Demonstrates an implementation of the Predictive Fetch pattern for AJAX, where the AJAX engine uses the current state of the user’s interaction to predict which set of content will be needed next, and then fetches that data in advance from the server. This provides for a more responsive user experience.

Very well done and informative Joe.
The way you roll through the code with your in-depth explanations will help a lot of developers.
Thanks a bunch bro.

Hello I am a starting developer and have been watching your course on Ajax development, however I tried launching a website with the toolbox on the web and got an error saying something about assembly logging and that it does no load the ajax assembly, could you have a video showing how to configure the web.config file to support the AJAX toolkit or could you PLEASE get back to me about it. Thank you VERY much.

Joe,

Thanks for making the "How Do I" series of videos demonstrating ASP.NET AJAX. I have worked through several of them already and I cannot wait to work on the rest. I just ordered the academic version of Visual Studio Standard Edition so I can open .sln files build .vsi project templates. So I will be ready to build my own AJAX enabled website! Just have to make sure it does not interfere with my classes.

Its really cool, but doesn't seems fit for the big applications. Is there any way we can send the DataTable from Web Service to client side and set it to some GridView? I am not so sure as I am very new to AJAX.

I ' v just completed my own blog which has been published in internet, and its running is almost ok.

But another fatal Problem has occured , the Page which I Designed by using ajax tech couldn't display well ,and it's always report ("Sys" Not Defined --) ,so it's unable to work ,

I copy the ajax DLL into Bin Directory ,and deploy the WebConfig well, Also I run it in Localhost and IIS ,its all OK ,

it's A little bit more tough ~~~ How do I deal with it ?

Can you please have a look and make sure I have the right sections?

Many Thanks

I've just downloaded the code for "Implement the Incremental Page Display Pattern using HTTP GET and POST" and it doesn't seem to work in Firefox - instead of displaying rendered content in the div it shows raw HTML, is their a way around this?

Hey Joe,
Thanks a million for the excellent AJAX videos, you really do make them intersesting to the viewer and your depth of knowledge compliments the overall result.
The small, discrete 'nugget' style keeps the subject focussed and certainly leaves me wanting more!
I've certainly learnt a lot more from watching and then experimenting, than I have from just playing around with AJAX/ASP.NET Smile

Cheers for this and all the best...looking forward to more Smile

Hi,
I've got the same problem as James Carters: only RAW HTML is shown in the div...and this happens both in Firefox and IE7.
Can anyone help me?
