Free at Last, Free at Last (Or Verizon Wireless You Still Suck, Part FINAL)

Just use a search engine and search for Verizon Wireless Sucks and see what you get.

I wrote a blog post few years ago titles “Verizon Wireless You Suck”. Since then I’ve received several HUNDRED email and comments with people sharing similar customer service nightmares with me about Verizon.

So… Last week I was in Redmond (I live n the East Coast but my job is based on the West Coast) and my phone wouldn’t work. After 2 hours with tech support they admitted they made changes that broke my access. This happens about once a fiscal quarter.

On the flight home I read “Smart Phone and Pocket PC Magazine” which was reviewing the new Windows Mobile 6 phones they are offering.

So when I got home, I decided to get the new device and give T-Mobile a try.

So, I went to the local Verizon Wireless center and asked them to cancel my accounts. NOPE ! We can’t do that.

But they did give me account information that my PC-Card data account was still under contract.

So I called Verizon Wireless directly.

Mind you, I have 4 Verizon Wireless Lines, have been a customer for TEN years and spent @ $20,000 with them in those 10 years.

When I said, “Hi, my name is Joe Stagner,my number is 123 and I'm calling to cancel all my accounts, can you guess what they said ?

OK, we’ll charge you $350. Have a nice day. (I should have paid $175 to terminate my PC Card account but it turns out that even though all my phones were out of contract they associate the PC Card with a phone and apparently charge you double for termination, or something, he representative couldn’t really explain, but at that point I didn’t care What it cost.)

So nice to be a valued customer  

Now I know, some people have had fine experience with Verizon Wireless – just not anyone that I know.

Later – I’ll post about the great experience I had atthe T-Mobile store in town.

And as a side note – wile I was in the T-Mobile store, FOUR other people came in and opened accounts so they could drop Verizon Wireless.

Free at last, FReE AT LAST !

We at Bluefintech have been T-Moble account for about 10 years and have no contracts!
They even unlocked all of our pocket PC phones and our PC Card Account. The only thing we mite purchase from Verison is a FIOS account.

I NEVER buy a phone with a subscription. It's cheaper in the end and it doesn't give me the damn handcuffs. How this practice can continue to be legal in this country when almost any other country have legally prevented the phone companies from screwing you over like that is a mystery to me.

I hear you on the verizon issues. My wife has been with them for years and years. I signed up with them because, well, we could talk to each other for free.

After 3 years I've decided (and she supports) the decision to move away from them when our contracts are up.

I'm not a big smartphone user, or any such thing. I like my phone to work and if it doesn't I expect to be able to have all items on said unworking phone transferred to the replacement given. They transfer basic phone numbers only, no data, no nothing. And if you have ever tried to use bluetooth or anything via a verizon phone you know as well as I do that it's a joke. "Transfer files? Load your own ringtone? No, but you can buy ours for $2.99 a piece!"

I don't know who we're going with, but it won't be verizon again. I probably ought to start looking now so when sept 2008 rolls around, I'll finally have made a decision Smile

Gee, Verizon sounds like Bell Mobility up here in Canada, and the worst part is, my OnStar service functions(if you want to call it that) on their network. Rogers all the way over here (for Canada anyways)

They switched my account from corporate to personal responsibility due to a mistake my company made. Fine, my company is going to fill out what ever forms are necessary to get the account back into corporate responsibility. BUT WAIT - there's a problem. After three calls to Verizon lasting a total of 2.5 hours they still have not sent the form. To boot every time I call I have to explain why I'm calling - they say they have the notes but they still insist on having me regurgitate the issue. The last time I called I spoke to a guy named Justin and I insisted that he read the notes instead of having me tell the story again. Instead he put me on hold and I left the call on speak for 1 hour before I needed to make another call and had to hang up.

Be careful Verizon Wireless is extremely difficult to work with.

WELL, FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DOESNT UNDERSTAND WHY VZW SUCKS LET ME GIVE YOU ALL THE INSIDE SCOOP.
REASON # 1- LACK OF TRAINING
VERIZON WIRLESS LOVES TO SELL THEMSLEVES TO UNKNOWING PEOPLE IN SEARCH OF JOBS USING THE SELLING POINTS OF BONUS AND 401 K MATCHES. PRETTY APPEALING IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO START YOUR CARRER. WHAT YOU FIND OUT LATER IS THAT THERE IS ACTUALLY NO ROOM FOR GROWTH AS THEY LIE ABOUT. ACTUALLY, PEOPLE THERE ARE SO TIRED OF THERE UNEDUCATED, GHETTO, UNPROFESSIONAL SUPERVISRORS THAT THE REPS CONSTANTLY POST FOR JOBS THAT ARE NOT EVEN ENOUGH SPOTS TO FILL..THE MORAL IS SOO LOW THAT IN THE BEGGINIG OF EVERY YEAR REPS USE ALOMOST ALL OF THE VACATION TIME SINCE THEY WERE UNABLE TO TAKE ANY TIME OFF THE END IF THE PREVIOUS YEAR. I HAVE NEVER WORKED FOR A PLACE THAT INTENTIONALLY HIRES THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL WORKERS SINCE THEY KNOW THESE TYPES WILL ALLOW PEOPLE TO DISREPSECT THEM WHENEVER THEY WANT TO AND THESE TYPES WILL NOT SPEAK UP FOR THEMSLEVES. YOUR SUPERVISOR IS NOT A DEGREE HOLDING RESPECTABLE EMPLOYEE RATHER A FRIEND OF A HIGHER UP WHO IS MORE THAN LIKELY SLEPPING WITH ALL OF THE TRASH THEY THEY HIRE( USUALLY MALE ON MALE). ( AND I HAVE HAD MANY JOBS) IF U WOULD LIKE NAMES LET ME KNOW.
#2- SCARED OF REAL POTENTIAL
FORGET WORKING YOUR WAY TO THE TOP. UNLESS YOU ARE HIRED AT A CERTAIN LEVEL, KISS THE UPPER RANKINGS GOODBYE. NOW IF YOU LIKE TO MAKE FRIENDS AND YOU ONLY GO TO WORK TO BE MAKE FRIENDS ( LIKE UR IN HIGHSCHOOL) THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU)BUT IF YOU ARE PROFESSIONAL AND CARRY YOURSELF AS SUCH. DO NOT WORK THERE. UNLESS YOU JUST NEED 2 PAYCHECKS. THEN QUIT.
#3 HR DOES NOT EXIST
IF YOU EVEN THINK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CALL SOMEONE TO ASSIST YOU IN A MATTER INVOLVING ANYONE. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF CALLING YOUR MAMA. I AND PREVIUOS EMPLOYEES HAVE SENT EMAILS FOR ASSISTANCE USUALLY FOR HARRASEMENT FROM YOUR GHETTO LACKING DEGREE "SUPERIORS". FOR THEM TO RESPOND 3 WEEKS LATER AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN TARGETED AS A "PROBLEM EMPLOYEE". WHICH MEANS YOUR BATHROOM BREAKS, ANYTIME YOU MUST TAKE A PHONE CALL, OR WHEN YOU MAY TURN AROUND TO SAY HELLO TO SOMEONE IS DOCUMENTED IN YOUR MEANINGLESS FILE WHICH WILL AFFECT YOUR BONUS.
#4- PLAYING WITH THE MONEY YOU WORK HARD FOR.
IF THIS COMPANY DOES WANT TO OFFER THESE INCENTIVES THEN JUST DONT. (BUT THEY HAVE TO. WHY ELSE WOULD SOMEONE START AT 15 AN HOUR WITHOUT THESE INCENTIVES) COME NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER OF EVERY YEAR ITS TIME TO DUCK YOUR HEAD. THERE ARE NUMEROUS FIRINGS OF EMPLOYEES FOR FRIVOLOUS REASONS. SO YOU WILL NOT HAVE A BONUS TO RECIEVE THE FOLLOWING APRIL SINCE YOU ARE NOW UNEMPLOYED BUT SINCE THIS IS AN AT WILL STATE YOU HAVE NO LEG TO STAND ON. REMEMBER HR ONLY HIRES, NOT GO TO BAT FOR THERE EMPLOYEES. DID I TELL YOU ALL THERE IS NO UNION FOR WIRELESS? LANDLINE YES, WIRELESS NO. THERE WAS AN EMPLOYEE FIRED THAT HR WAS NOT EVEN PRESENT AT. AND WHEN HE ASKED TO SPEAK TO THEM, ONE OF THESE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL "SUPERVISORS"RESPONDED" YOU DONT NEED HR". HR DID NOT CALL BACK LATER EITHER. YOU CAN KISS UNEMPLOYMENT GOODBYE. VERIZON WIRELESS HAS FOUGHT TOOTH AND NAIL TO DENY EVERYONE. EVEN THOUGH MOST ARE NOT FIRED FOR GROSS MISCONDUCT. USUALLY FOR TIME MISUSE.
#5 NO UNION
AT OTHER COMPANIES NOT HAVING A UNION IS OK. BUT HAVING A UNION IS SPOKE OF SO BADLY THAT YOU ARE AFRAID TO SIGN UO FOR IT. HR AND YOUR SUPERVISOR WILL NOT EVEN DISCUSS ANY OF YOUR ISSUES IF YOU DO REQUIRE UNION REPRESTATION. YOU WILL BE BLACK BALLED.
#6 RAISES ARE NOT WORK BASED
I KNOW OF OTHER SITUATIONS WHERE THEY WERE PUT ON A DEVELOPING REVIEW EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO WRITE UP,COACHINGS, OR ANYTHING IN THE FILE. ONE OF THE UNEDUCATED DEGREE LACKING "SUPERVISORS" DECIDES TO PLACE YOU AT ANY CATEGORY OF PERFORMANCE THEY WANT TO BECAUSE THEY SUPPORT THERE OWN. THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTORS USUALLY DONT GO AGAINST PEOPLE THEY HAVE PLACED IN THAT POSTION. AGAIN YOU HAVE NO SUPPORT. USUALLY THESE PATHETIC INDIVUALS GIVE 5 YEARS OF THER LIFE TO MAKE ABOUT 50K. (BUT WHEN UR UNEDUCATED WHAT ELSE CAN U DO) PLEASE DONT THINK YOU WILL WIZ UP THE CORPORATE LADDER UNLESS YOU HAVE 6 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE TO GIVE THEM. ( SAD ISNT IT) I HAVE NOT KNOW OF ANY CALL CENTER SUPERVISOR BEING PROMOTED TO THAT POSITION WITHIN 2 YEARS. MIND YOU, YOUR SUPERVISORY SKILLS INVOLVE TIME SHEETS, APPROVAL, MONTHLY BS MEETINGS AND GETTING AN ESCALTED EMAIL. WHICH WILL BE ROUTED BACK TO THE REP.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO KNOW...I COULD GO ON BUT I DONT HAVE THE TIME...
SO YOU ALL CAN GO ON GIVING MONEY TO A COMPANY SUCH AS THIS. ME PERSONALLY, DONT HAVE A VERIZON WIRLESS PHONE, INTERNET OR CABLE. I REFUSE TO SUPPORT THEM IN ANYWAY. AND IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE BRAIN DEAD IDIOTS THAT THINK I AM JUST A BITTER EX EMPLOYEE. NONE OF THESE THINGS HAPPENED TO ME PERSONALLY BUT ALMOST ALL THE EMPLOYESS I HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH HAVE HAD ONE OF THE ABOVE EXPERINCES. I MOVED ON VOLUNTARLITY ONCE I REALIZED I WAS WASTING MY LIFE AT A DEAD END JOB (NOT CARRER) IF YOU DO DECIDE TO WORK THERE MAKE SURE YOU DEGREED AND WILL STRAIGHT TO I.T. OR UPPER MANAGEMENT. DO NOT START OFF ENTRY LEVEL , U WILL REGRET ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE PUT IN....SO THE NEXT TIME THERE IS A REP ON THE PHONE. PLEASE DONT BE UPSET WITH THEM. THEY HAVE TRIFLING GHETTO LEADERSHIP BY PEOPLE WHO ARENT EVEN SMART ENOUGH TO FINISH A COLLEGE. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT? FEEL SORRY FOR THEM AND HOPE THEY WISE UP AS I DID AND STOP WASTING THERE LIFE. IT IS TOO PRECIOUS TO WASTE AT VERIZON WIRELESS. IT DOES SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
