What is the advantage to using this approach when compared to a javascript solution (ex. http://code.google.com/p/google-code-prettify/)?

This post is already on google. I was doing some searches for something like this so i could post code on my blog. However it doesn't work well in VPC, and I do all my dev work in a VPC
